Credit and debit cards with built-in thumbprint sensors could one day do away with the need to use codes, PINs and passwords.
That is the hope of Mastercard, which is backing a technology developed by a Norwegian company called Zwipe.
The BBC's personal finance correspondent, Simon Gompertz, got his fingers on the new card to see how it works.
